Audubon Recertification

September 2019

Old Tabby Links has been a Certified Audubon Cooperative Program for golf since 1999 and has recently earned recertification. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf is an award-winning educational certification program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. By helping people enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, and minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf course operations, the program serves an important environmental role worldwide. Frank LaVardera, Director of Environmental Programs for Golf, said on a recent site visit “I really enjoyed seeing the course and all the great things you and your staff are doing. You guys set a great example of what an ACSP Certified Course should look like.” LaVardera was very impressed with Old Tabby Links, our practices and our attention of being environmental stewards. The ACSP assists golf course members to take stock of their environmental resources and any potential liabilities, and then develop a plan that fits its unique setting, goals, staff, budget, and time. To be designated, golf course personnel develop and implement an environmental management plan, document the results, and host a site visit with Audubon International staff. Recertification is required every three years to maintain the Certified Sanctuary designation. Learn more about the ACSP program at https://auduboninternational.org/acsp-for-golf/
